Wisdom from a Donkey 1

A few donkeys and this empty mortal were relishing our lunch at a waste paper mart. We were feasting and not fasting. The spread in the buffet was infinite and we had the option to choose from Rumi, Tennyson,Wordsworth and the wisdom of other great masters. I ate well to my stomach’s content but I found my dear friends eating to their mental satisfaction . They observed my manner of eating and asked me”You are only masticating the food and swallowing it. You are not chewing the cud like us. Unless you chew the cud of the wisdom in your food for the palate and thought , you will continue to be a stupid human being. Please do not get offended.” I felt ashamed and replied “ We will meet for brunch on Sunday and you will observe a change in me for the better. More to come from one more spiritual Master .
