A patient was drowning on the troubled waters of illness. Thanks to Telemedicine the Creator inside me treated her well and she became fine. I was attending to every phone call and replying to every what’s up message from her.She called me last night at 11 pm and asked me if she can sleep with the air conditioner on throughout the night. I answered her patiently ( meant my patience). This morning I forwarded a message to everyone requesting patients to what’s up me anytime but call me only if there was an emergency. I messaged them “ Live and let others live” Immediately that patient replied “ You are paid only to answer all your queries at anytime of the day.” I have inherited my sarcasm from Bernard Shaw who himself was a Doctor. I replied “ I do appreciate that your consultation with me costs you money. But my consultation with you costs me my life . I prefer to live and not die rich in the sands of time.” COVID has transformed people from beings selfish to be self- centred. “ I met COVID now and after reading post it said “ Even I , the Covid cannot help such people.”I also picked up the audacity to forward this post to her so that she atleast she understands that Doctors are also humans who desire to live healthy like patients. Pardon me for this post in this vein.🙇♂️🧎♀️
