A soulful incident happened at dawn yesterday.I went for a stroll in the morning.I ran into an elderly and fragile person seated on the platform. The sparkle in his eyes drew my attention and I walked towards him like how a dog would walk towards it’s master.
I asked him “What are you ?.
He replied “I am a beggar.” I am an inquisitive by nature.I asked him “What was your identity before you became a beggar?.” He sported a sarcastic smile and replied “ I also had an identity like you before I became a beggar. But now , wisdom has transformed me into a beggar.” I asked him “What am I?” He broke into a thunderous laughter and replied” You are also a beggar.” I was shocked.I asked him “ Why do you call me a beggar?” He saw through me and replied “ I am a beggar out of need but you are a beggar out of greed. If we have to lose our identity , we should first get detached from our need and greed.” I saw stars and proceeded ahead in my journey towards the land of detachment. It is Sabbath day today. Chew the cud of this wisdom and jump into our boat without a second thought
