As a Doctor, I have been an innocent spectator to the process of birth, living , illness , dying and death. I have been perplexed by the relationship between the human body and the soul. At Medical School , I was amazed by the perplexing perfection of human organs but I could never discover the soul.
I requested my Guru to take the “I”out leaving only the body and soul together. I requested the body and soul to have a conversation. The body which in indeed an epitome of ego told the soul “ I am the blue eyed boy of my Master.He is obsessed about my well being. He rushes for medical help when I am unwell and however trivial it is. He cleanses me of my dirt daily.He spends hours at the gymnasium to keep my self fit. And indeed he is my slave because he is in constant fear that something bad will happen to me.” The soul smiled and replied “ I pity you and our master for this futile relationship. You will crumble to dust one day.The process of disease and ageing will make you fragile and dependent on the species of medical men to keep you going on . You are indeed cursed to fall into the treacherous hands of illness and mortality with certainty. On the other hand , thanks to the Creator, I am immortal and I exist only in the virtual dimensions of space and time. Please advise our master to travel inward , discover the oasis of purity, wisdom and enlightenment contained within me. Our master is wasting his life worrying about inanimate objects like you which will with certainty become ashes and non existent one day. I am ready to offer our master a ‘soulful’ living provided he gets detached from maya and has the vision to see reality.
