Death, Grief and Wisdom

I had a conversation with my Guru this morning. I asked him “ What does death give birth to?
HE replied, “ Death gives birth to grief.”
I asked him “What does grief give birth to? “. My Guru answered “ Grief gives birth to wisdom”. I asked HIM “Why cannot death give birth to wisdom directly rather than choose grief to give birth to wisdom? HE replied “Experience only is the domain of Wisdom. Hence grief is an experience whose offspring is wisdom. This is the order of Nature .”
I prostrated before HIM and am at present lost in the content of this pearl of wisdom.
