A patient was unusually pleased with my consultation.Before he left my consultation he told me “Doctor.You are a jovial , humorous and happy person. Please do not think that I am telling all this to “Perish You.”I was shocked and started seeing stars 🌟. I called up my colleague who had been in conversation with this patient for the last 4 days. I asked my colleague “ Why did that patient tell me these words “Perish You”? Immediately my friend reacted and said “Cool Ramki. What he meant was “Praise You.” . Pardon him for the choice of the wrong word to express his emotions .” Before he hung up the phone , he wished me “Bad Evening”. One more shock for me but I was calm . I could understand my colleague’s indisposition after his frequent interaction in English with that patient. Ok “ Bad Night sorry Good Night to you. 🤣. I am also under the spell of that patient. Hope to recover tomorrow.😞
