The Death of Identity

As long as this soul was in a woman’s womb, it had no identity. It was not exposed to the external world and was naive to existence. The moment it was delivered into the external world, that woman became a mother and the infant the mother’s son. Parents christened him Ramakrishnan which conferred on him an identity. He subsequently got into the role of playing a Doctor in the drama titled “Life.” His travel in the external world brought upon him an Identity which unfolded a dreaded quality termed Ego. He got glued to his identity and fished for name and fame in the turbulent waters of competitive existence in the external world. All this was a consequence of his travel into the exterior. A moment arrived when he relinquished the “I” and travelled inward to discover the hollowness and emptiness of the “Self”. This experience led to the dissolution of the “I” and cremation of the Ego.
