After I put my first step in the patient waiting lounge, everyone looked strangely at me. I felt like Neil Armstrong on the Moon. I sat next to one of the patients. She got up abruptly and short of physically abusing me shouted “Social distancing! Keep one metre away from me.” The scene reminded me of one of those adventurous moves made by a villain towards the heroine in a movie. At 66 years I took to heels and took my seat in the last row. I never had an earlier experience to converse through a mask. Immediately I called up that masked Robin Hood of India “Sandal Wood Veerappan.”
My God, you know what happened.
After the ring tone , the same audio experience. Cough , cough , cough and the message: “If you experience cough, cold , fever, breathing problems……” This is the only message I remember in life now. I was shocked that there was Corona Red alert even in Veerappan’s present place of stay. I am not sure whether it is Heaven or Hell because to me anything other than Earth and Home is Heaven for me. This is what isolation has taught me.
