Wisdom from the Sacred Ashes 🙏

.It is a religious tradition to smear the sacred ash on the forehead . I met my school classmate yesterday. He identified me easily with the sacred ash on my forehead which was more of my shadow walking ahead of me. He asked me “Why do you smear ashes on your forehead. ?. Don’t you think that it makes your face dirty ? What do you gain by smearing it on your forehead?”. It was a difficult question to answer appropriately immediately. I always have my life line -“My Guru”He gave my friend this answer “After death we crumble into dust or ashes depending on whether we are buried or cremated. Whenever you look at the sacred ashes smeared on your forehead in a mirror , it always reminds you about your end . At the same time it also passes on the message to the onlooker that he also has the same end.How can this truth of the Doctrine of Karma ever confer dirt on you face?.” This incident unfolded in me the truth that “Everything and anything which has a beginning has also an end and we are not immortal.”. Goodbye for the morning. I am off to the Pooja room to smear the sacred ashes on my forehead . It is a source of wisdom to both me and my fellow human beings.🙏
